PrivacyRoboCanvas beta 1 · last updated 2026-10-30

Your projects stay on your computer.

RoboCanvas has no accounts, cookies, analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. Your robot projects are stored in your own browser and never uploaded. We receive feedback only when you email it to us yourself.

Website and app

The website and the browser app

  • This site is a set of static files. It has no server-side code, no login, no cookies, no tracking pixels, no analytics and no fonts or scripts loaded from other companies. Its pages are sent with a Content Security Policy that only allows requests to this site and, from the app, to the RoboCanvas companion on your own computer (127.0.0.1 or localhost, port 8766).
  • The site is served by a hosting provider (Cloudflare). Like any web server, the provider processes the technical data needed to deliver a page, such as your IP address, the requested address, the time and your browser's user agent, and may keep it in short-term logs for security and operations under its own privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/. We have not enabled any analytics product from the provider.
  • The app runs RoboCanvas's engine inside your browser tab (WebAssembly). Designing, validating, generating and the simulation preview happen on your computer; the robot data you work on is not sent to us or anyone else.
  • Projects are saved in your browser's IndexedDB storage on this computer, for this site only. They stay there until you delete them in the app or clear the site's data in your browser. Your browser may remove them under storage pressure unless you grant persistent storage (in the app's Settings). Keep a copy with Export if a project matters to you.
  • The app also keeps a usage summary in your browser (localStorage, this site only): how many times a few actions happened, such as projects created, packages generated, builds that succeeded or failed, with the first and last day of each. It holds no project names or contents, files, paths or identifiers, and it is never sent anywhere by the app. You can see it, clear it or switch it off in the app's Settings.
  • Downloads (generated packages and exported projects) are created in your browser and saved by your browser; they are not stored on our side.
Companion

The local companion (optional)

  • The companion is a program you start yourself. It listens only on your computer's loopback interface and answers only the RoboCanvas page it was started for, after you pair it with a one-time code shown in its console.
  • It receives the project you choose to sync, writes it into the workspace folder you named, and runs colcon and ros2 launch on your computer. Build and launch logs go from the companion to your browser tab only. Nothing is sent to us.
  • Your browser may ask whether this site may connect to apps on your device; that question is about the companion. Saying no only disables the Run on ROS 2 tab.
Feedback

Feedback

  • The report page works entirely in your browser. What you type there is not saved and not sent anywhere by the page.
  • If you choose Open email draft, your own mail program opens a message to the RoboCanvas beta team at robocanvasteam@gmail.com containing the report text. Nothing is sent until you press send there. If you send it, we receive the email: your email address, your name as your mail program shows it, and whatever you wrote or pasted.
  • The report page can add the app's usage summary to your report, only if you tick the box for it; it shows you the exact text first.
  • We use feedback only to understand and fix problems in RoboCanvas and to reply to you. We do not sell it or share it for advertising. Ask us by email to delete your feedback and we will.
  • Do not paste passwords, tokens, private keys or anything you do not want us to read. Error output often contains file paths that include your user name; edit them out if you prefer.
Never

What we never do

  • Upload your projects, generated packages, source code, logs or files automatically.
  • Read anything from your computer except through the companion, when you start it and pair it.
  • Use cookies, fingerprinting, analytics or advertising trackers.
Changes

Changes

If what RoboCanvas collects changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
